CELEBRATING OUR 32nd YEAR!

SEPTEMBER MEETING:

Our first meeting of the club year will be on Tuesday, September 11th, with social time beginning at 9:30 a.m. Since during our first meeting a lot of business is discussed and dues are being paid, there will be no speaker at this meeting but an extended social time so we can catch up with each other after the summer. When club business is done, feel free to stay on to socialize some more.

Refreshments for this meeting will be provided by Janice Lefebvre and Dot Mazzarisi.

FALL AND HOLIDAY SHOW:

Get a start on your holiday shopping at a Fall and Holiday Show at the home of Shirley Ruggiero on Friday, September 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show will feature decorative painting, fiber arts and textiles by Kay Monto and rag dolls, fiber arts, textiles and vintage linens by Shirley Ruggiero. Prices range from $4 to $150. Cash and checks accepted. Layaway is available. Friends and friends of friends are welcome.

INTEREST GROUPS: ACTIVITIES UPDATE:

BREAKFAST BUNCH:

This group will be meeting at the Sit N’ Chat Diner on Thursday, September 6th, meeting at the diner at 9:30 a.m. Please let Mary-Ellen know if you will be attending.

COOKBOOK BOOK CLUB:

Our “Cooking Light Luncheon Group” will resume starting in January, on the second Wednesday of every month. Like our Book Club, it will be at each individual member’s home at 12 noon. People can find a Cooking Light magazine to choose a recipe or go to their online presence at CookingLight.com. Email Carol Heinz your recipe selection. Each member will make their selection at home and bring it as well as copies of the recipe.

COUPLES DINNER GROUP:

Information will be provided from Pat Kaminskyj by email when the next outing of this group is scheduled.

DoWaiLoWe:

Our Don't Wait to Lose Weight group (DoWaLoWe) is a self-help group which began in January, 2009. Each new member is asked to state the number of pounds she hopes to lose and to briefly describe her weight-loss method. DoWaLoWe has its own e-mailing list for weekly weigh-ins. Members of the group check their weight every Monday morning by noontime and then report their weight gain or loss (number of pounds) or maintenance of the same weight to all members of the group. Knowing that other friends are attempting to lose weight and reporting one's own weight control on a weekly basis have proven effective in keeping members on track. Mary Loudin is the coordinator. If an individual member does not have e-mail, she may call Mary every Monday before noon, who will then report the results to the group.

LET’S DO LUNCH:

The next luncheon will be on Thursday, September 27th, meeting at Grappa’s in Warwick at 12:30 p.m. Let Merrilee McKittrick know if you are planning to attend.

WAYWAYANDA WALKERS:

This group will continue to meet at the lake parking lot in Wawayanda State Park on Mondays at 11 a.m. Children and dogs are welcome. Park regulations require that dogs be on leashes. You do not have to call Mary Loudin if you are walking, just show up by 11 a.m.

WORKING WOMEN’S CHAT-A-BIT DINNER GROUP: - Mary Loudin

This Dinner Group, open to all our members, will meet four times a year, once each season always in the second week of the month at 7 p.m. In October, “The Halloween Witches” will take flight, location and date to be decided. Other dinners to follow: The Snow Bunnies in January, the April Fools in April and The Dynamic Dames in July.

INTEREST GROUPS: SERVICE ACTIVITIES UPDATE:

Connie McHugh is the Chairman for this wonderful club service. If a member needs help Connie will coordinate assistance from willing club volunteers.
