CELEBRATING OUR 32nd YEAR!
Our November meeting will be on Tuesday, November 13th, with social time beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church with coffee and refreshments.
Our speaker for this meeting will be Megan Scutti, the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, at our local ShopRite in West Milford. As a local resident from Ringwood, Megan is excited to give back to her surrounding communities with her free nutrition services at ShopRite. Megan’s favorite part of her job is helping clients create more balance in their diets while still enjoying the foods they love! You can stop by the Dietitian’s Corner when you are in ShopRite to schedule a one-on-one consult, see what Megan is cooking and check out her upcoming events. At our meeting, she will be speaking to us on basic nutrition, answering our questions and giving a recipe demonstration for us to try. Come find out how to use her knowledge as a local resource to help us live healthier lives.
Refreshments for this meeting will be provided by Krystyna Wezdecki and Barbara
Van Der Sluys..
Refreshments for this meeting will be provided by Marge Kelemen and Liz Martinelli.

Heads up that our annual Holiday Brunch will be held at our December Newcomers Club meeting on Tuesday, December 11th, at the West Milford Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m. The party activities will start at 10 a.m. after members who have prepared dishes for our enjoyment have set the buffet for our “Holiday Brunch Feast.”
As in the past, our members provide the food for this festive gathering. Quiches, casseroles, salads, muffins, desserts, and Hors D’oeuvres, as well as “Your Very Own Thing” are on the buffet menu. Beverages and paper goods are also needed.
There will be games and the raffling off of quite a few prizes consisting of jewelry and other items created by our talented Dot Mazzarisi as well as other members, who generously donate their beautiful handiwork. Tickets cost $1 each and can be purchased at our December meeting.

People can find a Cooking Light magazine to choose a recipe or go to their online presence at CookingLight.com. Email Carol Heinz your recipe selection. Each member will make their selection at home and bring it as well as copies of the recipe.
COUPLES DINNER GROUP:
Information will be provided by email when the next outing of this group is scheduled.
Our Don't Wait to Lose Weight group (DoWaLoWe) is a self-help group which began in January, 2009. Each new member is asked to state the number of pounds she hopes to lose and to briefly describe her weight-loss method. DoWaLoWe has its own e-mailing list for weekly weigh-ins. Members of the group check their weight every Monday morning by noontime and then report their weight gain or loss (number of pounds) or maintenance of the same weight to all members of the group. Knowing that other friends are attempting to lose weight and reporting one's own weight control on a weekly basis have proven effective in keeping members on track. Mary Loudin is the coordinator. If an individual member does not have e-mail, she may call Mary every Monday before noon, who will then report the results to the group.
Watch your emails for the next Flick Chicks outing to the Kinnelon theatre for a fun time at the movies, always a matinee on a senior discount day. Dot will let us know when the next outing is planned.
LET’S DO LUNCH:
The next luncheon will be on Thursday, November 29th, at the High Socie Tea House in Wayne, meeting there at 12:30 p.m. We will be having the Queen’s Tea which consists of your tea of choice (full pot), quiche with soup or salad, 2 scones with lemon curd and clotted cream, assorted savory sandwiches, assorted small sweets as well as a plated dessert. The price of this luncheon will be $35 which includes tax and tip. This is NOT associated with Chilton – it is just for us. If you plan to attend, please let Merrilee know.
This group will continue to meet at the lake parking lot in Wawayanda State Park on Mondays at 11 a.m. Children and dogs are welcome. Park regulations require that dogs be on leashes. You do not have to call Mary if you are walking, just show up by 11 a.m.
WORKING WOMEN’S CHAT-A-BIT DINNER GROUP:
This Dinner Group, open to all our members, meets four times a year, once each season always in the second week of the month at 7 p.m. Our members had a great time at last month’s outing of the “Halloween Witches” at Pennings. The next dinner will be for the “Snow Bunnies” in January to be followed by the “April Fools” in April and the “Dynamic Dames” in July.
