November……eek! I’m running behind. Are you sure it’s not mid-September? I kind of lost August and early September to a medical time out and now I can’t catch up. That’s OK. I’m always running behind anyway. I hope you all are better organized than I am because – Thanksgiving is coming! Thanksgiving is coming!
First, don’t forget to order that all important turkey. Second, come catch your breath at our monthly meeting and find out what your Newcomer friends are doing. We have interesting speakers who are going to tell us all about their travels. Join as many of our activities as you can.
Also, remember when carving your turkey to be grateful for all you have. Family and friends count high on my list and I thank you all for your support.
Our November meeting will be on Tuesday, November 14th, with social time beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting beginning at 10 a.m.
Our speakers for this meeting are Emmet Williams and Jasmyne Emmerick, local authors and bloggers, who will present a slide show and talk about their experience walking the El Camino de Santiago Trail in Spain. They have written a book about their adventure, “No Complaints… Shut up and Walk,” which is available on Kindle. Come join us for this fun and interesting presentation!
Refreshments will be provided by Vivienne Erk and Janice Lefebve.

DON'T WAIT TO LOSE WEIGHT (DoWaLoWe): Mary Loudin
DoWaLoWe is a self-help group which began in January, 2009. Each new member is asked to state the number of pounds she hopes to lose and to briefly describe her weight-loss method. DoWaLoWe has its own e-mailing list for weekly weigh-ins. Members of the group check their weight every Monday morning by noontime and then report their weight gain or loss (number of pounds) or maintenance of the same weight to all members of the group. Knowing that other friends are attempting to lose weight and reporting one's own weight control on a weekly basis have proven effective in keeping members on track. Mary Loudin is the coordinator. If an individual member does not have e-mail, she may call Mary every Monday before noon, who will then report the results to the group.
FLICK CHICKS: Dot Mazzarisi
Watch your emails for the next Flick Chicks outing to the Kinnelon theatre for a fun time at the movies. The viewing will always be for a Thursday matinee (Senior Day) when the cost is $5. Dot has been checking the schedules and the next choice may be “Murder on the Orient Express” starring Johnny Depp.
